Village Care’s objectives are to assist and provide, to the residents of Penn and Tylers Green, Penn Bottom, Penn Street and Winchmore Hill, services for the relief of sickness, distress and hardship; and the promotion of education. We do this through practical assistance and financial support.
OUR SERVICES
Client Services
Our team of volunteer drivers and telephonists make arrangements for our clients who want to be taken from their homes to various destinations. Our clients can be anyone who needs a lift, young and old.
Our drivers will take clients anywhere reasonably local, and further afield for medical purposes. Popular destinations are hospitals, surgeries, supermarkets, hairdressers and local shops. Drivers use their own cars, so some cars may not be suitable for everyone. We work closely with Penn and Highfield Surgeries.
Fundraising
As well as working with our clients, we support individuals, schools and local charities through donations. Since 1999 we have donated over £25,000 to local causes including Penn Surgery, Tylers Green Middle School Defibrillator, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Penn and Tylers Green Scouts and Guides and many others.
Our main fundraising event is the annual Open Gardens day in the summer.
